What an incredible country I recently had the pleasure to explore with Big Five Tours.  We visited all the well-known locations such as Lima, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley to some of the lesser-known sites in northern Peru such as Chachapoyas, Cocachimba. I was extremely fortunate to experience unique interactions with the indigenous people of various regions we visited. The culture of Peru is vibrant and engaging for all your senses. The sites are awe inspiring to see…Machu Picchu (one of the 7th wonders fo the world), the Kuelap Fortress in the Utcubama Valley, the mysterious and so grand sarcophagi of Karajia, and the Gocta Waterfall which is one of the tallest waterfalls in the world.

The people are warm and welcoming. They make you feel as if you were a long-lost friend, or relative when you meet them.  And the food? Absolutely AMAZING!

Your taste buds are tantalized with the many different flavors that they incorporate on every dish you are served. I was absolutely amazed with all the meals we enjoyed, and of course paired with Pisco Sours or wine from the region. The meals were based mostly on meat, corn, and potatoes prepared in so many different ways. The culinary experience in Peru also provides food to people with special needs. It was a wonder to see the chefs accommodate every type of request. Peru is rich in history and it was a marvel to see and learn about their past. The Incas were an thriving culture at one time and it is strongly represented in their architecture, art, and religion. The mummifications of their dead were so advanced and meticulously done that they are still well preserved as of today.   Lastly, the sounds of Peru are beautiful. Sounds of the animals, rivers running wild, the wind brushing the hillsides, the many various birds that inhabit the country, and of course the music! Peru is a must for any traveler. Most of all Peru is to be visited for not only the most popular locations as I have mentioned above, but also for the lesser-known, off the beaten path locations.

My recent travel to Peru gave me a much broader perspective of the country, and of myself.  It was transforming, enlightening, and spiritually enrichening. I highly suggest traveling to this incredible destination, and if you have already been…go back.  If you have any questions, or would like to know more about Peru please contact me. I would be thrilled to share my experiences with you.
